Professional Year Program Information Technology
The ACS Professional Year (PYear) Program in Computing/ICT gives an extra pathway from education institute to work inside Australia, offering an occupation availability system to furnish you with the expert abilities required for an effective vocation in the Australian workforce. The system is planned for at least 44 weeks to a greatest of 52 weeks.
The Australian Computer Society ICT Professional Year is an activity of the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) to address Australia's abilities deficiency through improving the employability of recent worldwide IT graduates. Endless supply of the IT Professional Year Program, qualifying hopefuls may be qualified to get points towards their permanent residency under the Skilled Migration pathway.
Course Structure
The ACS IT Professional Year Course is a 44 week program comprising of three stages:
Phase 1: Face To Face Sessions
Encompassing seven 4 week long subjects, this first stage is designed to provide you with the theoretical knowledge and communication skills to successfully integrate into the Australian business setting in the IT field. Students are required to attend the Melbourne, Sydney or Adelaide campus one day a week.
Phase 2: Internship
A 12 week professional internship in the IT field organised by our specialist Internship division Performance Careers. We work with host 1000+ companies across Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
Phase 3:
During this final stage of your course you will consolidate your Professional Year classroom studies and IT internship experiences and prepare to successfully begin the next stage of your life. On successful completion of a Professional Year program specified by the Minister, a participant may be awarded 5 points under the Skilled Occupation List (SOL).
Requirements
To be eligible for the ACS Professional Year in IT you must have:
- Completed a recognised IT degree in Australia that provides a minimum of 2 years credit points. This must be completed over a minimum of 18 months.
- Obtained or applied for a Graduate (Temporary) Visa (subclass 485) with a minimum 12 months validity.
- Hold an eligible Secondary Visa with work and study rights with at least 12 months validity
- A current IELTS score of 6.0 overall and not less than 5.0 in any skill.
